Seeing the need for the presence of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated to be in the Greater Killeen/Fort Cavazos area, six women came together to organize a chapter: Barbara Campbell, Lois Fields, Elva Chase, Martha Powell, Cora Clay, and Johnnie Parker. With their hard work and effort, Mu Delta Zeta Chapter received its charter on May 23, 1983, under International President Edith V. Francis. Since its inception, Mu Delta Zeta Chapter has made great strides in the Greater Killeen/Fort Cavazos and surrounding communities. Mu Delta Zeta Chapter was instrumental in organizing the local National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) chapter in November 2002.

Mu Delta Zeta Chapter and its auxiliary groups work to empower the community through our national service initiative Z-HOPE (Zetas Helping Other People Excel) and give countless hours of voluntary service to educate the public, assist youth, provide scholarships, and support organized charities. Jazz Night, our signature event, is held annually to raise funds for our scholarship program.
