The Women Who Led the Way
Our Charter Members
The first leaders of Mu Delta Zeta were six trailblazing women who brought Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. to the Greater Killeen/Fort Cavazos area. On May 23, 1983, Barbara Campbell, Lois Fields, Elva Chase, Martha Powell, Cora Clay, and Johnnie Parker established our chapter under International President Edith V. Francis.

Our Committees
Much of Mu Delta Zeta’s impact comes through the work of our standing committees. Each committee is led by chapter officers and members who plan, coordinate, and carry out programs year-round. Together, they ensure that our service, fundraising, and community initiatives reflect Zeta’s ideals and meet the needs of Central Texas.
- Community Service — Leads Z-HOPE projects, advocacy, and direct outreach.
- Scholarship — Administers our annual scholarship program and student support.
- Amicae — Acts as a support partner and source of mentorship to the Friends of Zeta – helping them carry out their mission to serve the community.
- Youth — Guides and supports our Archonettes, Amicettes, and Pearlettes.
- Social Action — Spearheads and guides our civic engagement initiatives.
- Mental Health — Champions emotional wellness through education, outreach, and support for our chapter and community.
- Public Relations — Shares our story with the community.
- Fundraising — Designs events and campaigns that sustain our scholarships and service programs.
- Bylaws & Governance — Keeps our chapter aligned with national standards and best practices.
- Hospitality, Amenities, & Protocol — Ensures that members and auxiliary members feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
- Programs — Coordinates with our programmatic committees and provides support as they produce our hallmark events.
