March of Dimes Partnership

Our chapter proudly joins Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated’s national partnership with the March of Dimes, standing in the fight for healthy mothers and healthy babies. Through education, advocacy, and fundraising, we champion initiatives that address maternal health, infant mortality, and prematurity awareness.

What We Do

  • March for Babies Walk — As the confirmed host if the Killeen March for Babies walk, we lead charge in the Greater Killeen/Fort Hood area. In our first year hosting, the MDZ team alone contributed over $11,000 to the cause. Looking ahead, we are aiming for a record $100,000 fundraising goal for the 2026 walk.
  • Prematurity Awareness Month — Each November, we host programs and presentations focused on prematurity prevention, including a dedicated Sunday Observance with local congregations.
  • Baby Showers & Layettes — We support expectant families by hosting community baby showers and distributing layettes to ensure mothers have essentials for their newborns.

Impact

  • Surpassed $5,000 fundraising minimum to host March for Babies.
