Youth Auxiliaries (Pearlettes, Amicettes, Archonettes)
Honoring our commitment to future generations by providing mentorship and leadership development for young women.
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated made history in the 1950s as the first Greek-lettered organization to establish youth auxiliaries, giving young women a place to learn, serve, and thrive alongside Zetas. The Youth Auxiliaries are designed to help young women grow in leadership while embracing the principles of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood.
The Mu Delta Zeta Chapter proudly sponsors three vibrant youth groups — Pearlettes, Amicettes, and Archonettes — totaling more than 60 active members in the Greater Killeen/Fort Hood community. These groups provide a safe, supportive environment where girls can build confidence, form lasting friendships, and contribute to their communities.
Each group meets monthly for formal sessions, engages in service projects, and participates in age-appropriate activities that promote education, leadership, and character.
Who We Serve
Our auxiliaries are open to young women in the Greater Killeen/Fort Hood area:
- Pearlettes: Girls ages 4–8
- Amicettes: Girls ages 9–13
- Archonettes: Young women ages 14–18
Mission
Our mission is to provide a carefully designed program of activities that will enhance youth members through mind, body, and spirit while preparing them to be leaders in their schools, families, and communities.
History
- 1950s — The first youth clubs, then called Zetalites, Amicettes, and Archonettes, were formed for young women ages 9–18.
- 1994 — The Pearlette Club was formally established as a national auxiliary for girls under age 9.
- Today — Chapters nationwide, including Mu Delta Zeta, continue to guide and mentor youth auxiliaries through service, scholarship, and leadership.
What We Do
Each auxiliary follows a nationally designed curriculum focused on four strands that grow with the girls as they mature:
- Community Service — Projects that embrace Zeta’s national thrusts such as Z-HOPE, Elder Care, and March of Dimes.
- Cultural Awareness & Social Skills — Experiences that build self-awareness, appreciation of heritage, and practical skills such as conflict resolution and etiquette.
- Educational Enrichment (STEAM) — Opportunities to strengthen knowledge in language arts, math, and science, with activities and contests at local, regional, and national levels.
- Leadership Development — Training and practice in parliamentary procedure, public speaking, organizing cultural field events, and connecting with community leaders.
